LHENA’s Community & Economic Development Committee (CED) focuses on neighborhood issues and programs related to promoting access to affordable housing, the built form of the neighborhood (including street design, pedestrian infrastructure, and walkability and bike-ability), and zoning and land-use.
Past and Current Projects:
- Mass mailing campaign to promote adoption of the City of Minneapolis 4d tax-incentive program which aims to preserve existing naturally occurring affordable housing.
- Redesign of LHENA grant and loan programs to offer greater assistance to multifamily properties and local business owners.
- The Building Ambassador Program (BAP), a network of renters and tenants in multifamily properties across the Wedge. The BAP network promotes LHENA related news and resources to over 760 residential units in the neighborhood. If you are interested in becoming a building ambassador, fill out this form.
CED is actively looking for new neighbors to join the committee and provide their expertise and passion. If you are interested in getting involved, check out the Get Involved button on our websites home page.
