Got Questions? We have some answers!
- What is organics recycling?
Organics recycling is a way for you to reduce waste, by collecting your food scraps and other compostable materials for recycling. The city of Minneapolis picks-up all the waste from this organics recycling drop-off location, and they have a wealth of resources about organics recycling on their website. For more information, check out: http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/solid-waste/organics/acceptable-organics
Who is eligible to drop-off their organics at the Wedge-Co-op?We welcome all who do not currently have access to organics recycling at home. You do not need to be a resident of the Lowry Hill East Neighborhood in order to participate.
- Where exactly do I drop-off my organics recycling?
The Organics Recycling Drop-off is located at the Wedge Co-op, 2105 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55405, in their south parking lot. Please note that it is unacceptable for you to place your organics recycling from home into the Wedge Co-op’s organics bins inside. The drop-off is outside only.
- Why are the bins locked and how do I access them?
The bins are locked because this drop-off is a pilot program, and LHENA needs to track participation in order to assess capacity needs. You can gain access by signing up online. You will receive a response with the code immediately.
