Our organization is stronger and more successful when residents who care about specific issues join us in our efforts. If you are interested in the work we do, or any other issue affecting Lowry Hill East, please consider doing the following:
(1) Attend one of our monthly public meetings.
Our public meetings occur monthly on the third Wednesday of every month. We meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at our new office at 2101 Hennepin Avenue S, Suite 100 A, Minneapolis 55405. A number of issues touching on several neighborhood priorities are addressed. Votes are commonly taken on proposed new residential and commercial developments. Our monthly meeting is also a forum for getting to know people and talking about ways to get further involved.
(2) Join one of our working groups or committees.
This is where the rewarding work happens. Our working groups and committees make our neighborhood’s priorities come to life. If you care about making our neighborhood more sustainable, join our Environmental Sustainability Working Group. If you have ideas about how to improve the aesthetic appeal of our public spaces, join our Public Spaces Working Group. If you enjoy meeting and socializing with other residents who share common values, join our Social Working Group. If you care about smart urban development or have an interest in architecture and design, join our Zoning & Planning Committee. And if you care about making historic preservation loans available to neighbors, join our NRP committee. (See our Calendar for committee meeting schedules).
(3) Subscribe to our emailing list and “like” us on Facebook.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added as a “member” to our mailing list, and then follow us on Facebook. Through these mediums, you will receive regular updates about projects, events, and meetings happening in Lowry Hill East. You can then decide which projects, events, or meeting you’d like to engage in.
