The Open Spaces committee seeks to enhance, beautify, and improve the community function of the public areas in our neighborhood. As an example of our aim, our first major project was Paint the Pavement, which involved bringing an artist, students from Jefferson Community School, and neighbors together to paint a large mural at the intersection of Colfax Ave. and 25th St.
Our current focus is on utility boxes – the rather large, but necessary steal boxes that dot the neighborhood. We are working to create a process for choosing wrap designs, which would cover the utility boxes.
We meet every fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 at Common Roots.
